HIS Majesty King Hamad’s humanitarian work and youth affairs representative and Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS) chairman Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa has directed the General Sports Authority (GSA) to remove metal barriers separating spectators from the stands in stadiums and sports venues.
SCYS first deputy chairman, GSA chairman, and Bahrain Olympic Committee president Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa instructed the relevant authorities to begin immediate implementation of the directive across the kingdom’s sports facilities.
The directive reflects Shaikh Nasser’s keenness to enhance the fan experience and develop the sporting environment in Bahrain, following the strong public engagement witnessed during the final of the 2025-26 His Majesty the King’s Cup, held Friday night.
Shaikh Khalid commended the initiative, noting the role of Bahraini supporters in enriching local competitions and contributing to the success of sporting events. The measure also aims to improve spectator comfort, encourage attendance, and foster closer interaction between players and fans.
The GSA confirmed the immediate implementation of the directive to ensure stadium readiness in line with development plans and to support the continued advancement of Bahrain’s sports sector.
