The Bahrain Haj Mission, in co-operation with the Ministry of Haj and Umrah in Saudi Arabia, has begun the distribution of Nusuk cards to pilgrims through licensed tour operators, as part of an organisational initiative to issue the cards within Bahrain before departure to the holy sites, ensuring readiness and streamlining procedures upon arrival.
Deputy head of the Bahrain Haj Mission Dr Mohammed Taher Al Qattan said the Nusuk card serves as the primary identification for pilgrims throughout the Haj season and is a mandatory requirement for entry to the holy sites and the Grand Mosque.
He noted that the card enables access to authorised services and urged pilgrims to carry it at all times, safeguard it, and make use of its digital version when needed.
Dr Al Qattan said the distribution process will continue until tomorrow, covering all 23 licensed tour operators and serving 4,625 pilgrims from Bahrain.
He noted that the pre-departure distribution of Nusuk cards is being implemented for the second consecutive year, reflecting the effectiveness of the measure in enhancing pilgrims’ readiness and reducing the need to complete procedures upon arrival in the holy sites.
Dr Al Qattan added that the first group of mission committees will depart Bahrain next Thursday for the holy sites, followed by the remaining teams to complete preparations, receive pilgrims, and provide services.
He affirmed that all mission committees are fully prepared to carry out their duties and provide support to ensure the comfort of Bahraini pilgrims throughout the Haj season.
