KYIV - Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskiy on Monday called Russia's strike on the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra monastery a grave crime against Christian culture.
"A Russian strike on the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra set the Dormition Cathedral on fire – a church whose history dates back to the 11th century. And this is one of Russia's most serious crimes against Christian culture to date," Zelenskiy said on X.
He also urged G7 countries to increase pressure on Russia and step up help for Ukraine's air defence.
