BOWLING – UM Al Hassam’s Isa Khalid was crowned champion of the first monthly tournament of the Bahrain Bowling Federation (BBF) this season, held at Funland Centre’s lanes.
Khalid secured the title after posting a total of 906 pinfalls over his four-game series for a 226.50 average. He had a high game of 243 in his second outing, while registering counts of 225, 227, and 211 in the others.
Khalid triumphed with a narrow 22-pin margin from runner-up Abdulaziz Al Shaikh from Riffa, who had an 884 total and a 221.00 average, while Abdulla Abdulkarim from Bahrain Club joined them on the podium in third with counts of 881 and 220.25.
Emerson Gotencio, also of Bahrain Club, finished just outside of the top three with an 871 pinfalls total and a 217.75 average, while completing the top eight, all of whom were Riffa players, were JM Villanueva (869, 217.25), Fawaz Abdulla (861, 215.25), Ahmed Algoud (856, 214.00), and Ali Almass (826, 206.50).
Following play, the top three were awarded their prizes in a ceremony attended by BBF president Saleh Albufalah along with other BBF officials.
