Bahrain’s Haj Mission head Shaikh Adnan Al Qattan has said that the mission has completed all logistical and field preparations to receive Bahraini pilgrims for the 2026 season.
He noted that field and preparatory work began more than five months ago to ensure high-quality services in Mecca and the holy sites.
He said the mission is operating under an integrated operational plan implemented by 90 members across nine specialised committees covering supervisory, service, security, medical and transport aspects.
The committees are serving 23 licensed tour operators accommodating 4,625 pilgrims from Bahraini citizens and residents.
“The first groups of pilgrims travelling by air are scheduled to depart for the holy sites shortly, with most tour operators departing on the fourth, fifth and sixth days of the month,” Mr Al Qattan noted.
“Most tour operators have set their stay in the holy sites between 10 and 12 days.
“The organisation of the mission reflects the support of His Majesty King Hamad, and the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister.”
He also commended the follow-up of the Supreme Committee for Haj and Umrah Affairs, chaired by Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments Minister Nawaf Al Maawda.
Mr Al Qattan noted that the mission co-ordinated with tour operators regarding arrangements inside pilgrims’ camps to ensure adequate space and comfort for pilgrims.
He added that all sites in Mina and Arafat are fully prepared and equipped with essential services and additional facilities.
He also urged pilgrims to adhere to all instructions issued by Saudi authorities, Bahrain’s Haj Mission, and Bahraini tour operators, and to follow preventive health guidelines to avoid heat exhaustion and sun exposure during the season.
