Interior Minister General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa chaired an extraordinary meeting of Interior Ministers of GCC states.
GCC secretary general Jasem Al Budaiwi also took part in the meeting.
Mr Al Budaiwi said the meeting reviewed the regional security situation in light of ongoing developments, as well as means to strengthen joint Gulf security co-ordination and co-operation to address challenges resulting from the attacks targeting GCC states.
He stressed that the security of GCC countries is indivisible.
He added that the ministers underscored the importance of intensifying co-ordination between interior ministries and relevant authorities across GCC states following the arrest of several cells linked to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).
They also affirmed the need to confront all threats targeting the security and stability of GCC countries, address the repercussions of current developments, and combat all forms of terrorism.
The ministers also extended their condolences to the families of those killed in the Iranian aggression targeting GCC states and wished a speedy recovery to the injured.
The GCC Secretary General further noted that the ministers commended the efforts of Gulf security agencies in uncovering and apprehending the cells, stressing that these achievements reflect the efficiency, vigilance, and high readiness of GCC security authorities in safeguarding the security and stability of member states and protecting their societies from threats.
