Bahrain has achieved a new milestone in development, wellbeing, and quality of life indicators, ranking third among Arab countries in the 2026 Global Human Prosperity Index (GHPI).
Bahrain also ranked 37th globally out of 193 countries, in a fresh affirmation of the kingdom’s success in building an integrated development environment that enhances quality of life, opportunities and stability.
According to the index results published by CEOWORLD Magazine, Bahrain scored 86.1 points, placing behind the UAE and Saudi Arabia among Arab nations, while outperforming several countries in the region and around the world.
The Global Human Prosperity Index is considered one of the modern indicators benchmarking the extent to which countries are able to transform their economic resources into outcomes that directly reflect on people’s life and wellbeing.
The index is based on a broad range of criteria, including quality of life, life expectancy, education levels, per capita income, political stability and the availability of opportunities.
Countries are classified into categories ranging from “elite prosperity” to “fragile prosperity”.
