Residents are set to benefit from expanded healthcare services after the completion of a major revamp and extension of Kuwait Health Centre in Karzakan aimed at transforming the facility into a modern, environmentally-friendly medical hub.
The upgraded centre now boasts new administrative offices, specialist consultation areas and a fully-integrated dental clinic complex, as part of a sweeping redevelopment project overseen by the Works Ministry.
The completed project was inspected yesterday by Works Ministry Under-Secretary Shaikh Mishal bin Mohammed Al Khalifa alongside Primary Healthcare Centres chief executive Dr Ejlal Al Alawi.
Shaikh Mishal said the project reflects Bahrain’s broader drive to modernise public healthcare infrastructure in line with the kingdom’s Economic Vision 2030.

He described the development as one of the ministry’s key service projects designed to improve healthcare delivery while embracing sustainability principles.
“The ministry has completed the project in line with modern service requirements and green building standards that support energy efficiency and environmental sustainability,” he said.
“We are committed to delivering projects that improve the quality of healthcare services provided to citizens and residents while preserving natural resources and reducing environmental impact.”
The redevelopment included refurbishing parts of the existing health centre and constructing a two-storey extension at the front of the building.
The ground floor now houses administrative offices, consultant rooms and meeting facilities, while the first floor features a comprehensive dental clinic department equipped with supporting services.
Shaikh Mishal said the expansion formed part of a wider national strategy to upgrade healthcare centres across Bahrain.
“This is one of the vital projects aimed at expanding the scope of healthcare services and improving the experience of beneficiaries,” he explained.
“It also enhances operational efficiency and creates a more integrated treatment environment capable of meeting the needs of the community.”
Meanwhile, Dr Al Alawi said the project demonstrated the commitment of Primary Healthcare Centres to continuously improve healthcare facilities throughout Bahrain.
“The development and expansion of Kuwait Health Centre reflects our dedication to strengthening healthcare infrastructure and delivering better medical services for the community,” she said.
“The project will significantly enhance the patient experience by providing a modern treatment environment that meets the needs of citizens and residents alike.”
Dr Al Alawi also highlighted the importance of co-operation between government bodies in implementing healthcare projects according to the highest standards.
“Continued co-ordination between authorities is essential to ensuring sustainability and improving the efficiency of healthcare delivery across the kingdom,” she added.
The upgraded centre is expected to ease pressure on surrounding health facilities while offering residents in Karzakan and neighbouring villages access to expanded dental and primary healthcare services closer to home.
The project also marks another step in Bahrain’s push towards greener public buildings, with the redesigned facility incorporating energy-saving specifications and sustainable construction standards aimed at reducing long-term operational costs and environmental impact.
