Works Minister Ibrahim Al Hawaj reviewed progress on the sewerage network project serving Block 1016 in Al Lawzi and Block 1203 in Hamad Town.
Works Under-Secretary Shaikh Meshaal bin Mohammed Al Khalifa and assistant under-secretary for sanitary engineering Fathi Abdulla Al Farea were present.
The minister said the project forms part of the ministry’s efforts to expand and enhance sewerage infrastructure in line with urban development and growing demand for services across the kingdom. The project, which has reached 70 per cent completion, will provide a new sewerage network serving 968 properties.
It includes the installation of main and secondary pipelines, the construction of 754 inspection chambers, and a new pumping station with a capacity of 650 litres per second.
Mr Al Hawaj stressed the importance of completing the project on schedule, highlighting its role in improving the efficiency and sustainability of sewerage services in the area.
