Shaikh Abdulla said that the kingdom is moving forward with steady steps towards achieving its climate goals, noting the formal submission of the Biennial Transparency Report (BTR) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change in 2025, which reviewed progress made in implementing climate commitments and national efforts to reduce emissions and enhance adaptation capacity, in line with the Paris Climate Agreement.
Shaikh Abdulla added that the SCE also submitted the kingdom’s third nationally determined contribution, which includes a roadmap of Bahrain’s climate commitments until 2035, and includes strategic measures to enhance climate action efficiency and support green transition pathways.
Shaikh Abdulla also highlighted the success of Bahrain in building a national database through the National Greenhouse Gas Inventory, alongside the implementation of strategic projects derived from the National Climate Change Adaptation Investment Plan in the fields of agriculture, water, and green buildings, reflecting the integration of national efforts to protect and sustain the environment.
