The Sheraton Bahrain Wedding Fair 2026 officially began yesterday at the hotel’s Al Taj Grand Ballroom, bringing together leading names in luxury bridal couture, fine jewellery, beauty, event planning and floral design under one roof.
The two-day fair was inaugurated by Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority chief executive Sara Ahmed Buhiji, who highlighted efforts to position the kingdom as a preferred wedding destination.
Ms Buhiji stressed the importance of offering a streamlined, one-stop experience for visitors planning weddings in Bahrain.
“Bahrain is one of the countries that families like to come to for hosting their weddings,” she told the GDN.
“They see that we have the right infrastructure, from hotels and ballrooms to photography, food and beverage services.
“We work closely with our national carrier Gulf Air, as well as our hotels, to provide attractive packages and make the process easier for visitors, especially those coming to celebrate their weddings here.”
Ms Buhiji stressed that the BTEA team supports visitors at every stage, working with them from the moment they arrive in Bahrain until the end of their journey.
For those just beginning to plan their big day, as well as those adding the finishing touches, the Sheraton Wedding Fair offers inspiration and ideas, along with the chance to meet a curated selection of wedding professionals and discover the latest trends and services.
A highlight of the event was an exclusive bridal fashion show last night, showcasing the latest wedding and occasion wear collections, complemented by jewellery presentations, bridal beauty trends and event styling concepts. Participating exhibitors include Bahrain Jewellery Centre, Bint Al Shaikh, Arch Events, Alia Flowers, and more.
Event partners include House of Glam Sheraton Bahrain branch, Adamas Motors and Aston Martin Bahrain, BINAA Powered by Eagle Hills, and MB Models, contributing to a diverse showcase of wedding and lifestyle experiences.
The event also showcases the Al Taj Grand Ballroom, Bahrain’s newest ballroom at the Sheraton Bahrain Hotel, completing the facility’s already versatile offering of indoor and outdoor event venues, supported by professional catering services for weddings, celebrations and corporate events.
“We are excited to invite everyone to this weekend’s wedding fair,” Sheraton Bahrain food and beverage director Oliver Weber told the GDN.
“We are showcasing Sheraton as a potential future wedding venue. Our hotel carries a long-standing legacy in Bahrain, and I continue to meet people who had their weddings here 20 or 30 years ago.
“We want to show the local community our new Sheraton, with fresh and new facilities, beautiful rooms and ballroom and fantastic food and beverage.”
The Sheraton Bahrain Wedding Fair aims to support the kingdom’s growing weddings, events and tourism sectors, while providing a platform connecting future brides with local businesses, designers and service providers.
During Ms Buhiji’s tour of the fair, she also highlighted the ‘Welcome Back’ campaign launched just before Eid Al Adha to attract visitors from neighbouring countries. She said it was encouraging to see tourists returning to Bahrain to experience events and concerts, describing it as a positive reflection of growing co-operation between the private sector and BTEA.
She also noted that the kingdom will host a wide range of events, including the third edition of the Bahrain Summer Toy Festival.
“We also have international shows coming but we will leave those announcements as a surprise for everyone, but we will be announcing it very soon,” she added.
BTEA has worked closely with four-and five-star hotels to offer attractive packages for visitors this summer.
Noting that Bahrain is the region’s only island nation, Ms Buhiji added that it offers a unique mix of waterfront attractions, modern developments and vibrant shopping malls that are central to its entertainment and dining scene, making it an ideal destination to enjoy the summer.
The Sheraton Bahrain Wedding Fair concludes today and will be open to the public from noon to 10pm.
