Bahrain’s parliamentary delegation member Dr Jameela Al Salman presented the final report of a working group during the seventh session of the IPU Global Conference of Women Parliamentarians (GCWP) 2026, held in Belgrade, Serbia.
The report highlighted the importance of co-operation between men and women in combating stereotypes and negative social norms that hinder women’s political participation, as well as strengthening legislation, policies, and institutional mechanisms that support equality and equal opportunities.
The Bahraini delegation also participated in discussions on combating discrimination, harassment, and violence against women in parliaments, as well as training programmes aimed at enhancing women’s participation in parliamentary work.
