A meeting was held yesterday between heads and officials from ma’atams across the Northern Governorate as Bahrain prepares for the Ashoora season.
It was chaired by Northern Governor Hassan Al Madani, in the presence of Deputy Governor Brigadier General Abdulla Ali Ma’antar and representatives from the Interior Ministry.
Mr Al Madani extended his appreciation to His Majesty King Hamad and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, for their care and attention to religious observances.
He also commended the efforts of Interior Minister General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa in facilitating the observance of Ashoora in a seamless manner.
He stressed the need to preserve the religious values of the occasion and prevent any practices that could divert it from its authentic spirit. Meanwhile, representatives of security and service authorities affirmed their readiness to co-ordinate with all relevant stakeholders to ensure the success of the season.
