The Abu Dhabi Civil Court has ordered a man to pay a total of AED 200,000 (approximately BD 20,000) after he sent a woman WhatsApp messages that were deemed morally and emotionally damaging.
The lawsuit was filed by the woman, who claimed the messages insulted her dignity and initially demanded AED 350,000 (approximately BD 35,000) in compensation.
Following legal proceedings, the court ruled that the man must pay the woman AED 100,000 (approximately BD 10,000) in compensation, alongside a fine of AED 100,000 to the court, and cover all of her legal fees.
