A fireworks stand in Oklahoma went up in flames on the evening of Saturday 20 June, triggering a chain reaction that lit up the night sky and could be seen for miles. Neighbours reported hearing loud booms before the blaze transformed into a non-stop barrage of detonating fireworks.
Local firefighters contained the blaze within approximately 20 minutes, and fortunately, no injuries were reported.
The Oklahoma State Fire Marshal's Office believes an electrical malfunction caused the fire, which destroyed most of the stand's inventory. Stock worth an estimated $60,000 was set off in the spectacular blaze, coming just weeks before the Independence Day celebrations.
