Animal rescuers speak about financial and emotional toll
We need government approval to build enclosed areas with cat houses and feeding stations in public parks, with a volunteer assigned to each location. That’s how we do it now – we take turns feeding in the park.
Keep only purebred or fluffy cats in shelters, because they really don’t have the survival skills to live outside.
Set adoption fees at least at BD200.
Create strict rules for breeders so they cannot make a profit.
Promote a culture of kindness, compassion and responsible care for animals within the community.
If someone wants to take a cat from the park, they should pay for at least a veterinary examination and vaccinations, rather than taking everything for free.

There are a few of us feeding strays and doing TNR, but with no support from the government, it’s a heavy load. If they could require vets to neuter at least 10 stray cats a month, it would help a lot.
