Interior Minister General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa received UK’s former Minister of State for the Middle East and North Africa Lord Tariq Ahmad. The meeting was attended by Chief of Police Lieutenant General Tariq Al Hassan.
General Shaikh Rashid said the security and stability enjoyed by Bahrain reflect the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad, who strengthened the nation and enhanced Bahrain’s national defence and security capabilities.
He said this had enabled the kingdom to consolidate its position and enhance its capabilities to respond to emergencies efficiently and professionally, strengthening its ability to protect the nation and maintain stability.
The Interior Minister commended the integrated measures taken by the government, led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and its role in addressing the challenges of the current period through a comprehensive and advanced approach based on enhancing national readiness and co-ordinating government and national efforts.
He also commended the longstanding relations and strategic partnership between Bahrain and the UK and efforts to further develop them in a manner that serves mutual interests.
The meeting also discussed areas of co-operation and co-ordination to advance joint work and exchange expertise in addressing security challenges and enhancing regional stability. Regional developments were also reviewed.
