Bahrain has once again demonstrated that its national security and sovereignty are not open to compromise or intimidation.
Alongside its fellow GCC states, Bahrain has shown that it possesses a resilient defence and security framework capable of responding effectively to evolving regional challenges, while ensuring the protection of its people, territory and national institutions.
Under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad, and with the support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Bahrain has consistently pursued a balanced and forward-looking national policy founded on dialogue, peaceful coexistence and respect for international law.
At the same time, the kingdom has maintained the capabilities necessary to safeguard its sovereignty and preserve national stability.
From the outset of the recent regional crisis, Bahrain repeatedly called for restraint and diplomatic solutions, stressing that its territory and airspace would not be used to launch military operations against Iran.
Despite this principled position, the kingdom, like many of its GCC partners, was subjected to attacks targeting its territory, airspace and critical infrastructure; these actions constitute a clear violation of international law and the sovereignty of independent states.
Bahrain’s response demonstrated the effectiveness of years of strategic investment in national defence and security. The Bahrain Defence Force, working in close co-ordination with the Interior Ministry, the National Guard and other relevant authorities, successfully countered aerial threats while minimising their impact. This reflected the kingdom’s advanced integration of early warning capabilities, air defence systems and operational command structures, supported by highly trained national personnel.
The Interior Ministry also played a vital role in implementing precautionary measures, providing timely guidance to citizens and residents, activating emergency procedures whenever required and ensuring the uninterrupted delivery of essential public services. At the same time, the competent authorities acted firmly against attempts to spread misinformation and undermine national security through social media platforms, reinforcing public confidence and preserving social cohesion.
Beyond the security dimension, Bahrain continued to engage actively on the diplomatic front. In co-ordination with fellow GCC member states, the Arab League states and international partners, the kingdom reaffirmed that attacks against its sovereignty represent a serious breach of international law while underscoring the importance of collective security, regional stability and peaceful conflict resolution.
Recent developments have also highlighted the strength of Bahrain’s national unity. Citizens and residents demonstrated a strong sense of responsibility by adhering to official guidance and supporting national efforts to maintain public safety. Government institutions continued to function efficiently, public services remained uninterrupted and daily life proceeded with remarkable stability, reflecting the resilience of Bahrain’s governance model and the effectiveness of its crisis management framework.
Ultimately, these developments reaffirm a defining principle of Bahrain’s national approach: that enduring security is built upon the strength of institutions, the readiness of national capabilities and the unity of society in times of challenge. It is this integrated foundation that continues to sustain the kingdom’s stability and resilience.
Guided by the visionary leadership of His Majesty, the kingdom will continue to uphold dialogue, diplomacy and respect for international law as the cornerstone of regional peace. At the same time, it remains unwavering in its determination to safeguard its sovereignty, protect its national interests and ensure the security of its people.
In maintaining this balance, Bahrain stands as a nation that regards peace not as a sign of weakness, but as a strategic choice strengthened by preparedness and responsibility.
