Interior Minister General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa received former executive chairman of the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS) Sir John Chipman.
Deputy Chief of Police Major-General Shaikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Khalifa was present.
The minister highlighted the importance of such meetings in enhancing communication and exchanging views.
General Shaikh Rashid praised His Majesty King Hamad’s leadership in confronting the Iranian aggression, dealing with its repercussions, and managing the emergency circumstances resulting from it.
The minister noted that the King places the kingdom’s identity, progress and prosperity at the forefront of national priorities, within the framework of strengthening the pillars of the state of institutions and law.
General Shaikh Rashid highlighted the follow-up by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to all procedures, initiatives and projects that contribute to advancing national development.
The minister also expressed appreciation for the role of research institutions through their studies and advanced scientific contributions, which support decision-making and enhance positive engagement with rapid challenges and developments.
General Shaikh Rashid highlighted the role of the IISS in promoting global peace and organising strategic forums and international conferences, foremost of which is the Manama Dialogue, held annually as an intellectual platform for exchanging views on issues related to security and stability.
The meeting discussed ways to enhance co-operation, develop joint work and exchange expertise. They also reviewed latest regional and international developments.
