His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, yesterday met DHL Express chief executive officer John Pearson at Gudaibiya Palace.
HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister emphasised the strategic role of the kingdom’s logistics sector, noting that enhancing its competitiveness through continued infrastructure development supports the kingdom’s comprehensive development, led by His Majesty King Hamad.
HRH Prince Salman highlighted the partnership between the kingdom and DHL Express and commended the ongoing efforts that are advancing Bahrain’s logistics sector.
HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister also commented on the kingdom’s commitment to strengthening co-operation with leading global specialised logistics companies, that will further position Bahrain as a leading and attractive global logistics hub.
Mr Pearson expressed his gratitude for HRH Prince Salman’s efforts to further enhance co-operation between the kingdom and DHL.
The CEO expressed his appreciation for the Bahrain-DHL partnership and its contribution to delivering high-quality logistics services.
Prime Minister’s Court Minister Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Finance and National Economy Minister Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa and DHL Express Bahrain board of directors chairman Shaikh Ahmed bin Ali Al Khalifa also attended the meeting.
The Finance and National Economy Minister who is also chairman of the board of Bahrain Mumtalakat Holding Company (Mumtalakat) separately met Mr Pearson.
The meeting was attended by Shaikh Ahmed bin Ali Al Khalifa and Mumtalakat CEO Shaikh Abdulla bin Khalifa Al Khalifa.
The Finance and National Economy Minister underlined Bahrain’s commitment to further developing the logistics sector as one of the key contributors to sustainable economic growth.
