VOLLEYBALL – BAHRAIN finished 12th overall amongst the 16 participating youth men’s national teams in the AVC Boys’ U18 Volleyball Championship 2026, which wrapped up yesterday in Haikou, China.
The kingdom’s squad were handed their place on the final ranking following a narrow 2-3 (13-25, 25-21, 25-23, 18-25, 15-17) defeat to Hong Kong in their concluding classification contest, which ran for over two hours.
The nationals could have secured a victory after taking the match lead following the third set but could not close things out.
The Bahrainis thus ended the under-18 Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) event with just one win in their six games. They lost to India, the Philippines, and Iran in the preliminaries, before beating Saudi Arabia but then bowing to Indonesia and Hong Kong in their classification bracket.
Bahrain took part in the championship for the third time in its 16 editions.
