BASKETBALL – TEAM ATTB were crowned champions of the Bahrain Summer Tour 2026 event – a 3x3 basketball championship held as part of the Sports City 2026 programme at Exhibition World Bahrain.
Team ATTB clinched their title after defeating Future Academy 21-19 in a thrilling and closely contested final.
The victors were composed of 3x3 veterans Mohammed Kowayed, Nasser Almosawi, Sadeq Shukrallah, and Hassan Fahad.
Following their triumph, Team ATTB were presented their awards by Bahrain Basketball Association (BBA) board member and BBA competitions committee chairman Hassan Yaseen.
The tournament featured 18 teams from the kingdom, and it was held as part of the BBA’s efforts to expand the base of 3x3 basketball players while promoting its popularity across all segments of society, given the sport’s rapid growth internationally and its inclusion in the official sporting programme of the London Olympics 2028.
The Bahrain Summer Tour 2026 event at Sports City 2026 is set to be followed by a pair of Fiba 3x3 World Tour Quest and Lite Quest events – to be staged by the kingdom for the first time later this month.
Scheduled for July 28 is the Bahrain Open Lite Quest, which will serve as a qualifier for the Phoenix Challenger in the US, set for September 19 and 20. That will then be followed by the Bahrain Summer Tour Quest on July 30, which will act as the qualification competition for the Debrecen Masters event in Hungary, set for August 29 and 30.
Both meetings offer opportunities to compete on the Fiba 3x3 World Tour – the premier street basketball series featuring international tournaments of various levels held around the world.
Masters events are the highest-tier followed by Challengers – both of which are fed by the qualifiers, which include Super Quest, Quest, and Lite Quest.
Both competitions are expected to attract 3x3 teams from outside the kingdom, and they will be played at the BBA Arena in Um Al Hassam Sports Complex.
