A 31-year-old man was arrested yesterday for allegedly misusing social media by publishing content that violates public decency.
The Interior Ministry’s General Directorate of Anti-Corruption and Economic and Electronic Security said legal procedures are underway to refer the individual, described as an Arab national, to the Public Prosecution.
It urged everyone to comply with the laws and regulations, and demonstrate national and moral responsibility when using social media.
It also called on the public to refrain from publishing or sharing any content that violates the law or harms the reputation of Bahraini society, stressing that it will not hesitate to take legal action against anyone who misuses these platforms to preserve public order and safeguard societal values.
