FOOTBALL – BAHRAIN’S senior men’s football national team stars Komail Al Aswad and Mahdi Abduljabbar were announced as part of the newest signings of Riffa Club ahead of the 2026-27 football season.
The pair were unveiled at a Press conference, where the Riffa senior men’s football team’s all-new kit was also showcased. Furthermore, a number of other new signings and contract extensions of existing teammates were announced.
Both Alaswad and Abduljabbar are returning to Riffa after having played for the club in the past. Al Aswad left the team in 2024 to move to Al Khaldiya, with whom he played last season before joining Al Arabi of Kuwait. Abduljabbar last played for Riffa in 2020 before moving to Manama.
He then joined Khaldiya in 2023 before ending last season with Naft Missan of Iraq. Both players have since joined Riffa on the pitch for the start of their pre-season training programme.
