BASKETBALL – Seef were crowned champions of the third stop in the Bahrain Summer Tour 2026 3x3 basketball tournament, played at Sports City 26 at Exhibition World Bahrain (EWB).
Seef secured the title after defeating Team ATBB 22-12 in the final game.
The victors were spearheaded in the competition by Uros Ilic and Austin Ajukwa, who played alongside teammates Elyas Younes and Isa Jasim.
ATBB were composed of Mohammed Kowayed, Nasser Almosawi, Ali Shukrallah, and Sadeq Shukrallah.
Players from both sides have international experience representing the kingdom overseas in top 3x3 and five-on-five basketball tournaments.
Seef shone brightest amongst a large field of 20 participating squads from Bahrain and Saudi Arabia.
At the end of play, they were presented their awards for first place by Bahrain Basketball Association (BBA) deputy secretary general Mohammed Ahmed and BBA competitions committee member Mohammed Albastaki.
With the result, Seef claimed the win in two of the three stops of the Bahrain Summer Tour 2026, which is now expected to be headed into the series’ grand finale on Friday, also set to take place at EWB.
Seef also claimed the crown in the Bahrain Summer Quest 2026 – a Fiba-sanctioned event that rewarded the winners a place in the Debrecen Masters in Hungary, set for August 29 and 30 as a top-tier event on the 2026 Fiba 3x3 World Tour.
The team that will take first place this Friday will book a spot in the Go Too! Group Aichi 2026 Challenger tournament in Japan, to be held on October 10 and 11.
The Aichi event acts as a qualifier for this year’s Manama Masters on November 20 and 21 – the kingdom’s top-tier tournament on the Fiba 3x3 World Tour 2026.
Seef punched their ticket to the third stop’s final after dominating against NY 22-6 in the last four.
ATBB also had a fine win – a 21-10 decision against Bahrain’s under-23 national team A – to advance to the title-decider.
In the quarters, Seef were 22-8 victors against Bahrain’s under-23 national team B, while ATBB outplayed Makhariqa 19-6.
NY edged past Golden Boys 15-14 while Bahrain’s under-23 national team A defeated Lakers 21-12.
Earlier, in the group stage, Seef and ATBB topped their respective divisions, which were seven in all.
Seef finished first in Pool E where they claimed wins against Lakers and MHHA, while ATBB led Pool B where they triumphed against Isa Town and Korma.
Elsewhere in this phase, Makhariqa were first in Pool A followed by NY and Jokers, Bahrain’s under-23 national team A led Pool C ahead of Golden Boys and Fighters, Portlan topped Pool D followed by fellow-Saudi side Hoops and Falcon, Bahrain’s under-23 national team B led Pool F ahead of Yas Jewelry and Wolves, and Cedar Squad finished ahead of Future Academy in Pool G, which featured just the two teams.
The Fiba 3x3 World Tour is the premier street basketball series featuring international tournaments of various levels held around the world.
Masters events are at the highest tier followed by Challengers – both of which are fed by qualifiers, which include Super Quest, Quest, and Lite Quest events.
