General Sports Authority (GSA) CEO Dr Abdulrahman Askar received Kuwait’s Minister of State for Youth and Sports Affairs Dr Tariq Hamad Al Jalahma and his accompanying delegation.
Dr Askar conveyed the greetings of Supreme Council for Youth and Sports first deputy chairman, GSA chairman, and Bahrain Olympic Committee president Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa to the Kuwaiti Minister. He also welcomed the minister and his delegation to the kingdom on behalf of Shaikh Khalid.
Dr Askar highlighted Shaikh Khalid’s pride in the long-standing ties between Bahrain and Kuwait and his commitment to strengthening sports cooperation and expanding opportunities for sharing expertise.
He also commended Kuwait’s rich sporting history, its strong legacy and prominent standing in the Gulf and Arab world, as well as the sporting talent it has produced, which has contributed to the shared development of sport.
Both sides discussed means to develop the sports sector, including sharing expertise in technical, administrative, and organisational fields, developing sports personnel and implementing joint initiatives.
They also emphasised the importance of continued coordination to turn areas of cooperation into practical programmes that benefit both sides.
For his part, Dr Al Jalahma expressed appreciation to Shaikh Khalid for his interest in strengthening sports cooperation, expressing his desire to expand partnerships and exchange expertise between the two countries to support the development of sport and achieve shared goals.
At the end of their meeting, Dr Askar presented Dr Al Jalahma with a token of appreciation on behalf of the GSA.
