Muharraq Municipal Council services committee chairman Abdulqader Al Sayed renewed his call on the Education Ministry to expedite implementation of the proposed provision of outdoor shade structures in front of schools in Muharraq Governorate, particularly during periods when students wait for a pick-up, to ensure their comfort and protection.
Mr Al Sayed said the proposal had previously been submitted to the ministry, which responded in December by referring it to the General Directorate of Public Services to identify suitable locations for the shade structures at schools, study the proposed sites and assess the feasibility of implementation based on priorities and available financial allocations.
“We thank the Education Ministry responding to the proposal and referring it for consideration. However, we have not yet received any updates on the results of the assessment or the steps taken to implement the proposal,” Mr Al Sayed said, renewing his call for the matter to be followed up and the necessary procedures completed.
