CRICKET – The Bahrain Cricket Federation (BCF) announced that they have signed a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Cricket Kenya, marking the beginning of a strategic partnership aimed at strengthening cricket development and co-operation between the two nations.
The MoU was signed by BCF advisory board chairman Mohammad Mansoor and Cricket Kenya chairman Bhavesh H Gohil at Nairobi Gymkhana in the Kenyan capital.
The partnership will promote collaboration across key areas, including player and coach development, technical exchanges, bilateral tours, youth and community cricket programmes, and cricket administration – therefore creating new opportunities for players, coaches, and cricket communities in both Bahrain and Kenya.
The signing follows a significant period of cricketing engagement held recently between the two countries, with the kingdom’s senior men’s cricket national team touring earlier this month for a four-match bilateral series featuring two T20 Internationals and two 50-over fixtures.
Led by captain Asif Ali, Bahrain used the tour as an important opportunity to gain international exposure and competitive preparation ahead of their ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Challenge League B campaign.
The Nairobi series also demonstrated the growing cricketing relationship between the two nations and it provided a strong foundation for deeper co-operation beyond the field of play.
The MoU comes at an important time for both the BCF and Cricket Kenya, as they continue to strengthen their cricketing structures and expand their international relationships.
For the BCF, the partnership forms part of their wider vision to provide greater international exposure and competitive opportunities and development pathways, while establishing meaningful relationships with cricketing nations around the world.
The signing also represents another milestone under Cricket Kenya’s newly elected leadership and their ongoing efforts to strengthen governance, develop cricket infrastructure, realign cricket activities, and establish strategic international partnerships that can contribute to the long-term growth of the game.
The MoU reflects the shared commitment of Bahrain and Kenya to building stronger, more professional, and internationally connected cricket ecosystems, while creating sustainable opportunities for the next generation of cricketers.
Through the agreement, Bahrain and Kenya are taking an important step forward in strengthening bilateral cricket relations and advancing the game both on and off the field.
