BOWLING – Riffa have been crowned champions of the Bahrain Bowling League 2026, which came to a close at Funland Centre’s lanes.
Riffa successfully defended their crown after wrapping up the 14-matchweek campaign with a resounding 8-0 (2,370-1,952) victory over Al Ettifaq to finish on 98 points atop the table.
They were classified ahead of runners-up Bahrain Club with 92 points, while Um Al Hassam took third with 86 points.
Placing well behind the top three on the final standings were Al Hala with 44 points, Busaiteen also on 44 points, Sanad with 34 points, Ettifaq with 26 points, and Isa Town with 24 points.
Riffa’s sweep of Ettifaq in their concluding league clash saw them open with a slim 764-713 victory in the first of their three-game series.
They were then dominant in an 856-587 game two triumph before riding their momentum into the finale for a 750-652 win to sign off on a high note.
Fawaz Abdulla spearheaded a balanced Riffa charge with a sensational 680 individual score.
Ahmed Algoud chipped in with a 582 total, while Ahmed Alkhaja scored 572 pins and Mohammed Ali Janahi 536 to complete their team’s championship-clinching performance.
Hussain Ahmed was Ettifaq’s best player with 512 pins, while Mohammed Aldoseari added 509 in defeat.
Elsewhere in the last week of action, Bahrain Club and Um Al Hassam both also came away with impressive sweeps.
Bahrain Club outclassed Al Hala 8-0 (2,371-2,156) while Um Al Hassam ousted Sanad 8-0 (2,187-2,093).
Bahrain Club began their match with a 789-705 win in the first game and then took game two 763-701.
They completed the contest with an 819-750 triumph in the final outing.
Abdulla Abdulkarim had a 694 series to top Bahrain Club’s scorers, while Emerson Gotencio added 633 score.
Abdulla Bahar paced Hala with a 562 total and Mohammed Alshetti registered 560 pinfalls.
In Um Al Hassam’s triumph, they needed to dig deep to overcome a spirited Sanad challenge and narrowly take the opening two games 695-683 and 727-711.
They were more assertive in the third, claiming it 765-699 to complete their victory.
Mohammed Alansari was their leading man with a 582 total and Talal Al Abdulla contributed 573 pins.
Mohammed Juma led Sanad with a 605 score while Mustafa Hasan added a 561.
In the concluding matchweek’s other affair, Busaiteen cruised past Isa Town 8-0 (2,158-1,907).
Busaiteen were in control throughout, taking the result with games of 714-624, 723-607, and 721-676 in their series.
Francis Medios top scored for their team with 592 pins while Yaser Alkhan scored 567.
Abdulla Almurbati had 492 pinfalls to spearhead Isa Town, while Talal Yousif added 486.
