An Egyptian man has been arrested after allegedly killing his mother and burying her body in cement beneath his bedroom floor, where he lived for nearly two years.
Investigations revealed that the 75-year-old woman was killed during a heated argument with her son. Instead of reporting the incident, the man dug a hole in his bedroom, buried his mother, and sealed the space with bricks and cement.
When relatives and neighbours asked about her whereabouts, he claimed she had gone travelling and had not yet returned.
A cousin eventually grew suspicious and reported her missing. When questioned by police, the suspect broke down and confessed, guiding officers to the scene.
Asked by investigators how he managed to live in the same place where he buried his mother's body, he reportedly replied: “I got used to the situation and went back to living normally.”
