The Bahrain Red Crescent Society (BRCS) marked World Humanitarian Day and honoured volunteers during an event held at its headquarters in Manama.
The ceremony recognised the dedication of humanitarian workers and celebrated their contributions, while both new and long-serving volunteers reflected on their experiences serving their communities.
Among the interactive activities was ‘The Seven Principles with Friends of the Red Crescent’, which introduced participants to the principles that guide the International Red Cross and Red Crescent movement. Several BRCS members were honoured during the event, and new volunteers were presented with membership cards.
“World Humanitarian Day provides an important opportunity to acknowledge the commitment of volunteers and humanitarian workers and reaffirm the values at the heart of its work, including compassion, service and responsibility towards people and society,” the BRCS said in a statement.
