HOCKEY – THE Bahrain Hockey Association (BHA) and the Greater Barishal Welfare Association-Bahrain have officially signed a collaboration and partnership agreement, with the aim of promoting and expanding the reach of hockey across the kingdom.
The BHA and the Greater Barishal Welfare Association will work together on joint initiatives, sporting events, community activities, and social programmes, with a special emphasis placed on developing the sporting skills of local athletes and strengthening cooperation and relations between the two organisations.
A signing ceremony was held at Al Najma Club in Juffair, in the presence of leaders from both organisations, community representatives, sports enthusiasts, and hockey lovers.
Representing the Greater Barishal Welfare Association was its general secretary Sarwor Hossain, while BHA secretary general Malik Abid Awan was also on hand.
Under the slogan ‘Together We Collaborate, Together We Promote Hockey’, both organisations pledged to work collectively to broaden the scope of the sport in Bahrain and identify and nurture new and promising talents.
As an immediate initiative under this partnership, the BHA and the Greater Barishal Welfare Association have already begun working toward forming two separate hockey teams for boys and girls at Bangladesh School Bahrain.
This timely and commendable initiative is expected to encourage greater participation in sports amongst school students, while creating new opportunities to develop talented young hockey players who may go on to compete at national and international levels in the future.
The partnership marks a new chapter in the joint efforts to promote hockey, empowering young athletes and strengthening community engagement through sports in the kingdom.
