HANDBALL – Bahrain’s youth men’s handball national team received a hero’s welcome upon their return to the kingdom from Amman, Jordan, where they won the silver medals at the 11th Asian Men’s Youth Handball Championship.
The Bahrainis were welcomed at Bahrain International Airport by Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) sports associations director Hesham Albeloshi, while also on hand was BOC board member and Bahrain Handball Federation (BHF) president Ali Issa Eshaqi along with several other BOC and BHF officials.
The kingdom’s side not only stepped onto the podium for their first-ever silver medals in the under-19 competition, they also earned their berth in the 12th IHF Men’s Youth Handball World Championship, scheduled to be held July 29 to August 9 in 2027 at a to-be-confirmed host nation.
The Bahrainis qualified for the youth worlds for the seventh time, including for its fifth straight edition.
