The glory of Bahrain has been captured by a marketing agency keen to ensure the kingdom rides the wave of a global online trend.
Ace Marketing has produced a promotional video highlighting Bahrain’s rich heritage and living traditions based on the viral ‘Born from Culture’ performance.
The original showcased Georgia in a fast-paced, choreographed and visually-stunning way and the Bahraini version has been created using artificial intelligence (AI).
“We saw the viral ‘Born from Culture’ trend and noticed that a lot of countries were jumping on it,” Ace Marketing owner Shahab Saeed told the GDN.
“We wanted to be the first to do it for Bahrain. The goal is to promote national unity and pride, and to represent Bahrain.”
The Ace Marketing offering features the kingdom’s essence with its landscapes, iconic landmarks, traditional costumes and more and the reaction in just 48 hours has been staggering.
“A lot of people have commented on the Instagram video, saying ‘I love this country so much’, and some of those who left talked about how much they miss Bahrain,” said Mr Saeed.
The inspiration for the video, ‘Born from Culture’, was shot and edited by Australian filmmaker James Fenwick, pairing traditional ethnic folk dances and costumes with modern hip-hop beats.
Mr Fenwick has made versions of it in Georgia, Aotearoa (New Zealand) and Samoa, and the trend has been adopted by other filmmakers, who made tributes based on their own countries.
Each country puts its own cultural identity into the same creative format.
Mr Saeed says the Bahrain offering was made through multiple AI-powered processes, including generating videos from real photographs, by a dedicated AI team at the agency.
“Images and videos made with AI have become super realistic in the past few years,” the veteran marketer said.
“The video was made with three to four different AI technologies but, of course, the idea and the stories have to be created in a human’s mind.”
He stated that some clips started out as generated images, then were turned into a video using AI tools like Kling 3.0 and Seedance 2.5.
These clips were then edited into the final video with the song.
“It took a couple of days for tweaking, changing and re-prompting,” said Mr Saeed.
Ace Marketing has recently invested in training four of its production staff in AI video creation and prompt engineering, learning how to best guide large language models (LLM).
“Our focus is very heavy on strategy. We want to be the leader in using AI technology and to make Bahrain a leader in the field,” he added.
“We use it to create content, in an age when content is the most important of things.”
“Companies can’t spend a huge budget on crews and shooting, and AI can create similar content but cost much less.”
And, he hopes viewers will appreciate the Bahraini buzz and give a boost to the kingdom at a challenging time.
