At least five people were killed when a five-storey building housing college students collapsed in New Delhi yesterday.
Eleven people had been rescued.
Located in South-West Delhi, the building was being used as guest accommodation and comprised a basement along with five upper floors.
According to the report, repair work was underway in the basement when the structure collapsed.
Locals said water had accumulated in the basement of the collapsed building. But labourers continued working.
“All agencies are working in co-ordination, with every effort focused on the safe rescue,” Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said in a post on X.
