The Cabinet yesterday reviewed the Interior Ministry’s preparations to manage traffic flow around educational areas and ensure the safe transportation of students, parents and educational staff.
It stressed the importance of the road development projects carried out by the Works Ministry ahead of the new school year, which are expected to help improve traffic conditions.
The review came as Deputy Prime Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa chaired the weekly Cabinet meeting at Gudaibiya Palace.
The Cabinet also followed up on the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to hold a Parent Induction Day across all public schools to brief parents and guardians on the new academic year. It wished students, teachers and administrators a successful new academic year.
The Cabinet highlighted His Majesty King Hamad’s meeting with UAE President Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and Vice-President, Prime Minister and Dubai Ruler Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, during which the longstanding Bahrain-UAE partnership and areas of multisectoral collaboration were reviewed.
It commended His Majesty’s visit to the Gadeha Junior training camp, held under the directives of National Security Advisor and Royal Guard Commander Lieutenant General Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, and under the supervision of Royal Guard Special Operations Commander Colonel Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
It praised the camp’s success, diverse training programmes and practical experiences.
The Cabinet welcomed Bahrain’s achievement of winning two awards at the Gulf Green Mobility Forum 2026: the ‘Sustainable Organisation’ Award, received by Khalifa Bin Salman Port, and the ‘Leading Woman in Mobility’ Award. “This achievement reflects the successful and integrated efforts of national bodies and institutions across the transportation sector,” it said.
Marking International Day of Charity, the Cabinet affirmed Bahrain’s support for various initiatives and efforts aimed at promoting a culture of charitable work and strengthening the values of giving and solidarity.
The Cabinet then reviewed several memorandums submitted by the Government Executive Committee, ministerial committees, and ministers, and approved the following:
1. A package of priority draft laws aimed at meeting development requirements for the benefit of citizens.
2. A draft law amending certain provisions of the Decree-Law establishing the Bahrain Development Bank.
3. The declarations of the International Space Summit.
4. A memorandum of understanding between Bahrain Polytechnic and the Cyprus Marine and Maritime Institute.
5. The expropriation of property for public benefit to provide the necessary space for urban development.
6. The government’s responses to several proposals submitted by Parliament and draft laws submitted by the Shura Council.
