Two Egyptian nationals, on Umrah pilgrimage, were killed and 25 others injured in a bus crash in Saudi Arabia's Mecca Province on Saturday.
The bus was carrying 47 Egyptian pilgrims from Medina to Mecca when it overturned near the city of Al Jumum, Egypt’s Foreign Ministry said on Sunday.
Twenty-five passengers sustained non-life-threatening injuries, with seven admitted to intensive care. The remaining injured pilgrims were discharged after receiving treatment.
Egyptian consular officials are co-ordinating with Saudi authorities regarding the burial of the victims and the investigation into the cause of the accident.
Egypt's Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty expressed his condolences to the victims' families and wished the injured a speedy recovery, while praising Saudi authorities for their swift response.
