My colleague – the kind, virtuous young man Waheeb bin Naser Alnaser – has passed away.
Colleagues often confused our names; whenever his family appealed for blood, a kidney, or other needs, my wife, siblings, and family would receive numerous inquiries. I was always the first to go and donate blood for him, as we both grew up in the city of Hidd and belonged to the same neighbourhood team (Al Muslim Area); his brother, Abdulhamid, is a friend of mine.
I took this photo with him seven years ago.
To clarify: I am Waheeb Essa Ismail Alnaser, while he was Waheeb Naser Abdulrahim Alnaser. He was about 10 years my junior. We were from the same neighbourhood in North of Hidd.
I do not know why his father – Naser (may God have mercy on him) – named him Waheeb. His father was a food merchant in Hidd from whom almost everyone in the town bought their household supplies; perhaps he named him after me.
There is another Waheeb in Hidd – Waheeb Mohammed Hassan – whose father (may God have mercy on him) named him after me as well, as he had been my Arabic teacher at Hidd Northern School. I did know that another Waheeb is in Hidd Town from Alsaqer family. There are only four people in Hidd Town who have the name Waheeb and myself is the oldest ( 67 years).
May God have mercy on the virtuous young man Waheeb bin Naser Alnaser, grant him a place in His vast Paradise, and bestow patience and solace upon his family.
Waheeb Essa Ismail Alnaser
