BOWLING – BAHRAIN Club were crowned champions of the 2026 Bahrain Bowling Federation (BBF) Cup, which came to a close at Funland Centre’s bowling lanes.
The victors secured their crown following a hard-earned 2,407-2,279 upset in the tournament final against reigning league champions and heavy favourites Riffa, who had captured last season’s BBF Cup title.
The match was tightly contested from the beginning, with Bahrain Club taking two of the three games and also registering the superior overall pinfalls total.
Bahrain Club opened the clash with a narrow 798-788 win in game one, spearheaded by the 236-pin effort of Khaled Sameer.
They then put in a more dominant performance in the second, where all four players scored over 200 and with Sameer again posting a 236 game to help his side triumph 879-746.
But Riffa salvaged the third 745-730, paced by the 223 score of Ali Almass, although it was not enough to secure the overall victory.
Sameer finished as the final’s top scorer with a 686 total.
Ahmed Fareed added a 578 series while Abdulla Abdulkarim scored 572 and Emerson Gotencio 571.
For Riffa, Almass led their charge with his 633 series. Fawaz Abdulla contributed 592 pins, JM Villanueva had a 542 total, and Ahmed Algoud scored 512.
Bahrain Club’s win against Riffa followed their victory in the semi-finals against Al Hala, while Riffa defeated Busaiteen to set up the mouth-watering clash between the two teams who also finished as the top two in the Bahrain Bowling League 2026.
Riffa secured their crown after finishing six points ahead of Bahrain Club on the final standings, having registered four more wins in their 14 matches played over the course of the season.
Bahrain Club finally got their revenge in the BBF Cup, which began with all eight clubs under the BBF’s umbrella, including Um Al Hassam, Sanad, Al Ettifaq, and Isa Town.
