Bahrain could step up its fight against unhealthy eating and sedentary lifestyles, with MPs set to vote on a proposal for a national strategy promoting healthier food choices and regular physical activity.
The proposal, led by Parliament’s foreign affairs, defence and national security committee vice-chairwoman MP Dr Mariam Al Dhaen, seeks clearer nutritional information on food products, stronger monitoring of children’s nutritional health and stricter oversight of meals served in nurseries, kindergartens and schools .
