Three African women were sentenced one year in prison each, on charges of prostitution.
The Criminal Court in Sharjah convicted them of soliciting sex in exchange for money (AED2500 per customer) and ordered their deportation on serving their jail term.
The convicts were caught red-handed in an undercover police operation at a hotel room.
Two of them confessed to having sex with 100 and 50 clients respectively, while the third said she couldn’t recall the exact number of customers with whom she had slept.
The same court also convicted an Asian woman of pregnancy out-of-wedlock and sentenced her to two months in prison and her subsequent deportation.
