A labourer died in a fire which gutted a labour accommodation in Gufool last night.
Interior Ministry early this morning confirmed the incident on its Twitter account.
"Asian worker died in a fire in Gufool area.
"Civil defence personnel doused the fire and saved many other people.
"Competent authorities at the scene."
According to sources the identity of the deceased could not be verified.
Witnesses told the GDN that two fire engines and over 10 fire men were at the scene past 11.30pm.
"At least four men were taken away in an ambulance," said the witness.
"Police had cordoned off the area and they were searching inside the building at least until midnight."
The accommodation inside Gufool area reportedly house Indian labourers.
