Dubai: Car owners in Abu Dhabi will now be able to get permanent registration cards.
The General Directorate of Police in Abu Dhabi has launched the new system this month as part of efforts to streamline traffic procedures.
“The new look registration card, issued only once to car owners, does not feature the expiry date or insurance data”, said Licensing director Brigadier Nasser Al-Shamsi.
A new permanent registration will be issued in case of transfer of vehicle ownership or mortgage.
Owners of cars and vehicles will be informed by SMS about the expiry of their registration cards.
