A Gulf national who filmed the murder of two Emirati citizens on January 6 and posted the videos online has been arrested, Emarat Alyoum reported.
The police in Ajman identified the 27-year-old suspect and arrested him, said Criminal Investigation acting director Major Mohammed bin Yafur Al Ghafli.
The suspected confessed to filming the crime scene from his car as he was going past police patrols and posted the photos and video on social media.
He was referred to the Public Prosecution, accused of infringing upon other people’s privacy, in breach of article 21 of the law on combating cybercrimes.
Lawbreakers convicted of violating the article face up to six months in jail and/or a fine upto AED500,000.
Three expatriates from the Comoros were arrested for murdering the two UAE nationals during a violent altercation.
A 20-year-old citizen, known by his initials (J.H), was run over as he was trying to escape from the fight and cross Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan Highway.
A 26-year-old national (S.R) was stabbed with a knife during the altercation which caused his death at Shaikh Khalifa Hospital in Ajman. The killers are aged 18, 26 and 30.
