MANAMA: ‘Bahrain First’ may be adopted as a national slogan.
This was suggested during yesterday’s Cabinet meeting chaired by His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa.
Ministers highlighted the importance of events that foster patriotic feelings and enhance the values of belonging to the nation, lauding the Bahrain First Festival, held recently under the auspices of His Majesty King Hamad.
The session urged promotion of Bahrain First as the slogan of everyone, each in their domain, to enhance Bahrain’s leadership and advancement in various fields, said Cabinet secretary general Dr Yasser Al Nasser.
A draft national programme was endorsed to streamline and facilitate air transport procedures. The Cabinet approved the establishment of a special committee which will include parties concerned.
The move is in line with the Convention on International Civil Aviation (also known as Chicago Convention), which was signed in 1944, making it mandatory for member countries to streamline air transportation procedures.
The session approved a draft resolution which aims to encourage breastfeeding and set regulations for using, promoting and marketing baby formula options to replace breast milk.
The Health Minister was assigned to issue the draft resolution which complies with international standards regulating baby formula ingredients.
The panel endorsed a draft resolution on fees levied on consular works, in line with the law on diplomatic and consular services. It discussed the signing of a memorandum of understanding between Bahrain’s National Space Science Agency and the UAE Mohammed bin Rashid Space Centre.
The session discussed the building of the headquarters of the Gulf Chemists Union in Bahrain, as outlined in the presentation of the Foreign Minister, and referred the matter to the Ministerial Committee for Legal Affairs for further study.
Ministers also reviewed a number of proposals on overfishing, allied health professions and kindergartens, and endorsed the government’s replies to them, as recommended by the Ministerial Committee for Legal Affairs.
