Abu Dhabi – The health authorities in Abu Dhabi warning against using Purtier Placenta, an unlicensed product in the United Arab Emirates.
The product, which contains stem cells extracted from deer placenta, is being promoted and sold as a nutrient to “rejuvenate the body” and treat diseases like blood pressure, sexual impotence and aging.
“The labels of the Purtier Placenta, which is promoted on social media sites, cite unscientific information and medical allegations which are not confirmed”, said the Abu Dhabi health directorate.
The directorate issued a statement warning against using the medicine, pointing out that the product has not be subjected to clinical tests to confirm its efficiency and safety.
“Results of the labs tests have revealed that the Purtier Placenta contains a high level of the poisonous bacteria endotoxins”, said the directorate, warning the public against using the unlicensed product.
