Kuwait: Egyptian singer Angham has said that she would defy a court ruling that has banned her from entering Kuwait.
Angham was to visit Kuwait for a musical concert as part of the February Festival.
She was married to Kuwaiti musician Fahd Mohammed Al-Shalabi in 2007 but they got divorced after three years.
Her ex mother-in-law filed a case against the singer in a bid to see her grand-son Abdulrahman, who is with his mother in Egypt.
The court ordered the divorced singer to be arrested immediately on entering Kuwait, reported Arabic daily Al-Jazirah.
However, following the ruling, Angham wrote on her Instagram account: “I would like to reassure all those who asked after me that I will travel to Kuwait to stage the concert. I am ready for any legal measure on my arrival because I respect the law”.
The singer had also refused to comply with a court verdict, which ordered her to allow her ex-husband to see his son.
