MANAMA: Bahrain’s Foreign Ministry has expressed its support for the Saudi Arabian foreign ministry’s statement regarding the report submitted to the US Congress on journalist Jamal Khashoggi’s death.
“Bahrain expresses its rejection of anything that would undermine the sovereignty of Saudi Arabia,” Bahrain News Agency reported yesterday.
“Bahrain emphasises the importance of the fundamental role of Saudi Arabia under the leadership of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince, Deputy Premier and Defence Minister Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, its policy of moderation regionally, in the Arab region and internationally, its efforts to enhance regional security and stability, and promote global economic development,” BNA said.
The Shura Council also rejected any attempt to undermine Saudi Arabia’s reputation, voicing full support for the statement issued by the Saudi ministry.
The Shura Council affirmed the prominent and pivotal role played by Saudi Arabia to lay down the foundations of regional and global security and peace.
Parliament’s foreign affairs, defence and national security committee also voiced its full support for the Saudi statement.
The committee expressed its rejection of any attempts to undermine Saudi sovereignty, voicing its solidarity with the tremendous efforts it is making at the regional and global levels to face all challenges, ensure regional security and stability, as well as boost global growth.
