Conserving Bounties Society, which operates the Bahrain Food Bank, is strengthening its efforts to combat food waste by bringing the ‘My Clean Plate’ campaign under its portfolio.
The move aims to unite national action against discarding food in the kingdom and expand the reach of related awareness and community support programmes.
‘My Clean Plate’ was founded by Aysha Fareed as a long-term initiative to raise awareness in Bahrain about the importance of reducing food waste and encouraging more responsible food consumption.
Conserving Bounties Society chief executive officer Thawra Al Dhaen said the integration would help bring community efforts together and strengthen intitiatives to educate the public.
“Combining existing expertise and initiatives will broaden our outreach to various segments of society and amplify the impact of messages promoting responsible consumption,” she said.
Welcoming the agreement, Ms Fareed said being under the institutional umbrella of the Conserving Bounties Society would give the campaign a stronger foundation from which to continue its mission and expand its programmes.
