A 33-year-old male expatriate who tested positive through random screening infected 16 co-workers living in three separate accommodations.
The details were released by the Health Ministry last night as part of its contact tracing programme.
A 58-year-old male expatriate also infected 10 family members, including his children, sister, granddaughter and daughter-in-law, all of whom had direct contact with him.
Further contact tracing of his daughter-in-law revealed her mother as a case of secondary infection. This cluster resulted in a total of 11 positive cases.
Meanwhile, a total of 6,002 local coronavirus infections were registered last week. Overall, 6,034 cases were confirmed between June 10 and June 16 of which 3,253 were Bahrainis and 2,781 expats.
Travel-related
The number of travel-related cases during the period reached 32.
Close contacts infected 2,381 people, 1,490 developed symptoms, 1,826 tested positive during random screening and 305 after quarantine.
The average number of cases a day dropped to 862 from 1,456 in the week prior.
Meanwhile, contact tracing of a 31-year-old Bahraini female Covid-19 patient revealed 10 cases from four different households. They include her children, sisters, niece and other relatives, all of whom had direct contact with her.
Nine people were found to have been infected after a 20-year-old female citizen tested positive. Those affected include the index case’s mother, siblings, niece and sister-in-law, all of whom had direct contact with her.
A symptomatic 22-year-old male citizen revealed eight positive cases from three different households, all of whom had direct contact with him. They include the index case’s sister, nieces, nephews and sister-in-law.
A seven-year-old female citizen who was confirmed positive infected seven others including her mother, brother, grandparents and aunts.
